Fall 2010 Fashion Trends: Fall/Winter on the horizon

With summer just about behind us, it’s time to look forward to the cooler weather, which means hats, boots, jackets and scarves. Hold on! I know what you’re thinking, but with the fabulous fall/winter 2010 fashion trends on the horizon, looking ahead to fall can be just as exciting as summer!

Ladies, fall is most definitely my favorite season because of all the layers and warm colours. This year, we can look forward to wearing a lot of new looks and different spins on previous trends with cool tweaks.

So here are my top 10 Fall/Winter 2010 fashion trends that I couldn’t get enough of.

1. Sexy turtleneck

Yes I said sexy with the word ‘turtleneck’. This trend is one of those oldies but goodies. The tailoring of the turtleneck this time around has put boring out the door and fascinating in.

2. Classic Camel

I can’t wait for December! Camel Coats are so in this winter and even late fall. Natural colours is just the right balance we will need this coming season.

3. Look out it's Superwomen! Capes and Ponchos

This fall, cover up big or small, ponchos and capes are the dramatic styles and simple tailoring that will make any outfit fabulous.

4. Lethal Leather

I know leather isn’t a style, but you should see the up coming leather trends. You’ll find it everywhere and anywhere in jackets, purses, boots, dresses…and the list goes on.

5. Knee high socks

Who went to a uniform high school? Well, I did and I absolutely love wearing knee high socks with my kilt. ;) Knee high socks can be an alternate option from knee high boots and can make any outfit pop.

6. Velvet love

Not everyone loves velvet, but it made my list because of the amount of options there are. If you look back to the 70's, you’ll see what the fuss was about. It’s the rich old-world charm that velvet clothing has.

7. The Cut-out Look

This one is for early fall, so don’t wait until the cold below 20 degree weather to wear your cut-out sweaters. It’s ok to show a little skin this season with a subtle cut-out piece. Enjoy all the new styles!

8. Sharp Military Trends

Ok, so you’ve seen it already! But take a second look because this military trend has taken command from the 20th century uniforms.

9. All day Sophisticated 70's

This is for the work hard, play even harder kind of girl. Work hard in high waists, wide legs, or soft blouses. Party harder in 70's glamour, draping dresses with metallic or shimmering hues.

10. There’s fur on my boots?

I had to add shoes to the list – who doesn’t love shoes? So years ago I bought a pair of fur boots, and people looked at me as if I were crazy or maybe they just wanted to throw red paint on them?!! This year, I’m in!! The sexy fur boot is far from a yeti furry feet style. Take a look at this year's sexy boots and shoes.

Have a Fabulous Fashion Friday!
